Yesterday, detectives received an anonymous call regarding the shooting of a two-year-old Hispanic girl and her grandmother.The tip led police to the 5500 block of Lansdowne Avenue where they arrested Cornell Price, 21, black male.
The toddler and her grandmother were walking on the 3000 block of Tulip Street around 2:35 pm yesterday when they were struck by gunfire. The toddler sufffered gunshot wounds to her right upper thigh area. She was transported to Temple Hospital where she was stabilized and then transported St. Christopher Hospital for Children. The grandmother sustained a gunshot wound to her left foot and was transported to Temple Hospital in stable condition.
Price, of the 2100 block of East Auburn Street, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, illegal possession of a firearm, and other related offenses.
